Welcome to Rez Wrestling Club Webpage!

RWC began in 2014 and is classified as club wrestling, which is apart from general scholastic sports. RWC prides

itself in providing alternative avenue for Navajo youth who are self-motivated and have support from their family

as well as the community. RWC is open to all youth age ranging from 5-15 years old. RWC is apart of the Amateur

 Athletic Union and competes in the Four Corner Wrestling and Rocky Mountain National Tournaments.

Wrestling is an individual sport that focuses on character building as well as providing youth with a sense of

 communities., community, family, and purpose. In addition, wrestling provides young athletes to prepare for life

by teaching e, focus, and commitment. RWC is in the heart of the Navajo Nation, which is rural and in

essence does ot provide many outlets for our youth to engage in other then scholastic sports. However, RWC's

vision is to teach wrestlers the skills that are necessary to build successful leaders in in our communities.

Wrestling Practice:

 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

(Ages 5-10) at 4:00pm-6:00pm

(Ages 10-15) at 6:00pm-8:00pm

Larry Tuni is the head coach/founder and has 31 years of coaching experience. This is his third 

year as the head coach for the Rez Wrestling Club. Larry gives credit to his Red Mesa Jr.  High

and High School coaches Mr. Cleve Holt, John Droll, and Terry Carroll for showing him what

great coaching is all about. Larry was the North A Wrestling Coach of the Year twice. 

Larry has coached many remarkable young adults, that now have children of their own.

He says “my second generation”. Wrestling isn’t just about the sport but about the family he

has gained in the process. He has a record of 6 AZ State Champions, 3 Utah State Champions

and 1 NM state Champ in his career.
